Ascensión al Morezón

Sierra de Gredos is a mountain range in central Spain and probably the best place to enjoy cross-country skiing as well as alpinism near Spanish capital Madrid. Gredos is the most vertical part of the Central Spain and requires expert winter skills during the cold season. Its highest point is Pico Almanzor, which reaches a 2,592 altitude and it has other important mountains such as “el morezón”, 2.389 mt, and the “Risco de las Hoyuelas”, 2.318 mt high.

There is a great variety  of possibilities for alpinism and cross-country ski especially around the glacier cirque. The glacier cirque has a very demanded hut just in the middle besides the beautiful “Laguna Grande”, a glacier lake which is frozen during most of the winter.
